Footed Stoneware Vase with Frieze Decoration
France, c. 1925–1935

A trumpet-form stoneware vase on a circular foot, the warm brown body entirely covered in fine horizontal combing that gives the surface a textile-like depth. Around the lower body, a restrained decorative frieze of beaded gold borders framing a band of dark aubergine vertical ribbing — precise, architectural, and quietly striking against the matte ground. The interior is glazed in cream white. Unsigned.

Condition

Beautiful vintage condition. Slight signs of use to the interior; minor nicks consistent with age.
